Common use of Double Shifting Clause in Contracts

Double Shifting. Prior to the first day of September 1975, a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ may be required to work a double shift at the rate of pay provided hereinafter. On and after that date the following provisions will apply: (a) In the event of an emergency, a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will work such number of hours or shifts as are reasonably required of him/her. Other than in the event of an emergency, double shifts will not be permitted except as hereinafter provided. (b) When no other suitable ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is available to the COMPANY to work that shift a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ may be requested to work a double shift and if he/she sees fit, he/she may work that double shift.
