Common use of Duration and Extension Clause in Contracts

Duration and Extension. 1. This Agreement shall remain in effect from the date of execution for a period not to exceed five (5) years unless otherwise extended pursuant to Stipulation IV.D.2 below or terminated pursuant to Stipulation IV.C.2 or IV.C.4, Severability and Termination. The Agreement shall remain in effect for Declarations made prior to expiration of the Agreement in order to minimize delays in delivery of FEMA assistance. 2. The Signatories may collectively agree to extend this Agreement to cover additional calendar years, or portions thereof, through an amendment per Stipulation IV.A., provided that the original Agreement has not expired.
