The 'Duration of studies' clause defines the specific time period during which a student is expected to complete their academic program or course of study. It typically outlines the start and end dates of the program, and may include provisions for extensions, leaves of absence, or the consequences of exceeding the allotted time. This clause ensures that both the institution and the student have a clear understanding of the expected timeline, helping to manage academic progress and administrative planning.
Duration of studies. 4.1. The standard length of the PhD education standard is 3 full time work years, from starting date to the date of thesis submission. In the event of statutory leave, the agreement period is extended correspondingly. The candidates are responsible for reporting and documenting such interruptions.
4.2. The agreement period may be extended due to delay during the course of the PhD education. An extended period may only be admitted upon a favourable opinion by the supervisors and the two institutions and any sponsoring bodies.
Duration of studies. The duration of studies is semesters, starting with the winter semester 2023.
Duration of studies. Students of University shall study for at least semesters at NSYSU. Students of NSYSU shall study for at least semesters at the University.
Duration of studies. 2.1. The nominal duration of the study programme is the period in academic years determined by the study programme necessary for completing the study programme with 60 ECTS credits per academic year, on an average 30 ECTS credits per semester. The student’s nominal period of studies shall normally correspond to the nominal duration of the study programme. The student’s nominal period of studies may be extended in cases established by Tallinn University Study Regulations.
2.2. Studies may take place after the end of the nominal duration of the study programme and the student’s nominal period of studies.
2.3. Studies shall last from the time the Student is matriculated until deletion from the matriculation register.

Duration of studies. 7.1 The maximum duration for a Candidate to stay in this dual degree program is seven years. In special cases and upon recommendation of the advisors, The Institutions, by mutual agreement, may increase or decrease the duration of the doctoral studies.
7.2 The Candidate must spend at least two semesters studying at each of the two Institutions. The actual duration of studies should be determined according to the related regulations of both Institutions and detailed in the individual candidate agreement. The Candidate whose Home Institution is XXX are expected to spend (Time) at XXX. And the Candidate whose Home Institution is NTHU are expected to spend at least four semesters at NTHU.
Duration of studies. The duration of the doctorate should usually be four years unless extraordinary, exceptional and clearly motivated situations justify a reduction or extension. In particular, if the double PhD specified objectives are not reached, the duration may be extended for up to an additional year and in accordance with the regulations of the two Institutions.
Duration of studies. The projected duration of studies and research work is three years from registration to the submission of the thesis. This period of registration may be extended for up to six months by agreement of the Academic Board, on the recommendation of the supervisors. The examination will take an additional three to six months beyond the period of registration.
