Effect of Leave. The District shall continue to provide group insurance benefits for any nurse who is unable to return to work because of proven illness or injury for up to three (3) months following the exhaustion of the nurses accrued sick leave and annual leave as long as the leave is covered by FMLA. Thereafter, the nurse shall be allowed to continue existing insurance coverage at the nurse’s own expense in accord with the state or federal law.
