Common use of Election of Stewards Clause in Contracts

Election of Stewards. In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the right of the members of Local 5259 to elect stewards, who are employees of the Employer, whose duties shall be to assist any employee whom the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ represents, in preparing and in presenting the employee’s grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure. Should none of the members of Local 5259 wish to stand for election as a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, then the Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ from the members of this Bargaining Unit.
