Eligibility to Bump. After receiving the layoff or reduction in hours notice, 18 employees may displace (bump) another employee within the employee’s layoff group as defined in 19 Section 18.7 below, if they meet all of the following criteria: 20 1. The laid off employee may bump the least senior employee in the layoff 21 group who holds a position for which the laid off employee is qualified in the job classification or job 22 classification series from which the employee is laid off, provided the employee to be bumped has 23 less seniority than the employee who elects to bump; and 24 2. The job classification of the employee to be bumped is at a pay range equal 25 to or lower than the employee who elects to bump; and 26 3. The employee electing to bump has the skill, ability and experience 27 required to perform the work of the job classification/position.
