Common use of Employee Training and Development Clause in Contracts

Employee Training and Development. SECTION 1. The Employer is responsible under the Government Employees Training Act for establishing training programs to increase efficiency and effectiveness. The Employer will publicize training opportunities in those areas and inform the employees how to apply for this training for self-development. SECTION 2. The Union will stress to employees of the Unit the need for self-development and self-initiated training to increase their efficiency and enhance their career potential. SECTION 3. The Employer recognizes the importance of training and will ensure that employees occupying the same type of positions will receive equal consideration to participate in training consistent with their qualifications and work experience. SECTION 4. The Employer will endeavor to assure that employees are provided necessary training and/or assistance to meet the performance requirements of their positions.
