Engineering Fee Clause Samples

The Engineering Fee clause defines the payment terms and structure for compensating engineering services provided under the contract. Typically, this clause specifies whether the fee is a fixed amount, a percentage of project costs, or based on hourly rates, and may outline when and how payments are to be made. By clearly establishing the basis and schedule for engineering compensation, this clause ensures transparency and helps prevent disputes over payment for engineering work.

Direct costs such as printing and vehicle expenses ($55.00/day) will be billed at their actual cost. Compensation for our work will be based upon actual labor dollars expended times a factor of 2.67 to cover actual payroll, overhead and indirect costs, payroll burden and fringe benefit costs, and profit. Should there be a need for more hours worked from our proposed Resident Engineer above the approved maximum fee, the rate which includes overhead and profit would be $154.85 per hour.
