Essential Access. In the event of a strike or lockout at the University, members whose research requires access to facilities on the University campus, in order to prevent such damage to that research as the loss of live or decomposable materials, shall be allowed such access following arrangements with the Vice President Research, or designate. Where possible, notification of access needs shall be given.
Essential Access. While bargaining unit members are not required to engage in research as part of their appointment at Trent University, it is acknowledged that such activity can be of benefit to both the member and the University. In the event of a strike or lockout at the University, where a member is engaged in research at Trent with the knowledge and concurrence of the appropriate University officials, and where access by those members to facilities on the Trent campus is necessary to prevent damage to their research projects, such as in the case of live or decomposable materials, arrangements for such access may be made through the AVP, Human Resources (or designate).

Where possible, notification of access needs shall be given. Within sixty (60) days of the signing of this Collective Agreement, the Board shall prepare and provide to each member a copy of the Agreement together with any additional material which the parties agree shall be distributed. The Board shall provide at cost to the Association for its own use fifty (50) copies of the Agreement within sixty (60) days of signing. The Board shall routinely provide a copy of the Agreement to members appointed during its life. With respect to new appointments, a copy of the Collective Agreement shall accompany any offer of employment.

  • WORK ACCESS The Association shall provide a current, written list of its Association Representatives to all heads of departments, offices, or bureaus represented herein and the CAO. The Association shall be responsible for keeping the list current. An Association Representative shall have access to department, office, or bureau facilities where Unit members are employed during regular working hours to assist employees covered under this MOU in addressing grievances when such Association assistance is requested by a grievant(s) or to investigate matters arising out of the application of the provisions of this MOU. The Association Representative shall request authorization for such visits by contacting the designated Management representative of the head of the office, department, or bureau. In the event immediate access cannot be authorized, the designated Management representative shall inform the Association Representative as to the earliest time when access can be granted. This Article shall not be construed as a limitation on the power of the head of a department, office, or bureau to restrict access to areas designated for security or confidential purposes.
