Excess Limits Sample Clauses
The Excess Limits clause defines the conditions under which insurance coverage extends beyond the primary policy limits. Typically, this clause specifies that once the primary insurance coverage is exhausted due to claims or losses, additional coverage from excess or umbrella policies will apply to cover further liabilities. For example, if a claim exceeds the maximum payout of the primary policy, the excess policy will respond to the remaining amount up to its own limit. The core function of this clause is to provide additional financial protection by ensuring that coverage continues after the primary limits are reached, thereby managing the risk of large or catastrophic losses.
