Excess Overtime Clause Samples

The Excess Overtime clause sets limits or conditions on the amount of overtime work that can be required or compensated under an agreement. Typically, it defines what constitutes overtime beyond standard working hours and may specify higher pay rates, approval requirements, or caps on the total overtime allowed. For example, it might state that any hours worked beyond 40 per week are considered excess and must be pre-approved by management. This clause helps control labor costs, prevent employee burnout, and ensure that overtime is managed fairly and transparently.
