Extended Operations. Any employee or group of employees engaged in a work operation for which there is regularly scheduled employment for more than the normal work day and/or normal work week as defined in Article 5, Section 2B and who are not continuous operations employees, shall be known as extended operations employees.

Extended Operations. In case of extended operations, the trade union representative may implement election of a spokesperson for the shifts on which he/she is not working, and which include at least 10 members of the union. The name of such spokesperson shall be submitted to the management immediately. In case of dismissal of such spokesperson, he/she is entitled to 20 weeks’ notice regardless of seniority.   • Suspended Operations If the University President or designee determines that the public health, property or safety is jeopardized and it is advisable due to emergency conditions to suspend the operation of all or any portion of the University, the following will govern represented individuals: A. When prior notice has not been given, represented individuals released until further notice after reporting to work will be compensated for hours worked on the first day of suspended operations. B. Represented individuals who are not required to work during suspended operations may request and may be granted a schedule change during their workweek. C.
