Extended Travel. Travel outside of the state in excess of thirty (30) days may be approved by the superintendent if: a. The unit member files with the superintendent a verification from a physician that travel outside of the state in excess of thirty (30) days is necessary for medical care or treatment, or b. The unit member verifies that care can be provided more reasonably in the home of a relative or friend. In such a case, the District may require periodic verification by a physician that the unit member is still disabled and unable to work.
