Extra Bus Trips. A. All drivers shall be paid for all hours spent on extra trips at the rate of $17.00 in 2022-23; $17.50 in 2023-24; and $18.00 in 2024-25. The minimum compensation for any extra trip shall be $60.00. B. For extra trips lasting more than five (5) hours in duration, the driver will be provided a $12.00 meal allowance provided the driver is not given a free meal by the restaurant. C. In the assignment of extra trips, a seniority rotation list policy shall be followed. The next Extra Trip will be given to the next senior driver on a rotation basis. D. Whenever possible, extra trips shall be assigned five (5) days in advance and shall be awarded on a rotated basis from the seniority rotation list. E. A regular driver shall have the option of either taking his/her regularly assigned route or an extra trip in the event of a conflict. F. When possible, no substitutes shall be used on extra trips until the rotation has been exhausted. G. There shall be two (2) sign-up periods for the rotation list, the first week of school in the fall, and the first week of school after the Christmas break. H. If a driver does not desire extra trips, he shall have the option of withdrawing his/her name from the rotation list. However, if the driver remains on the list, there shall be no trading of positions on the list. I. A trip rejected (called off) after being assigned shall be cause for the driver who was first assigned the trip to be skipped until his/her name comes up on the next rotation list sequence. If a driver rejects (calls off) an awarded trip for a second time (or more) in a semester, he/she shall be skipped the next time his/her name comes up on the rotation list. If this trip is rejected with less than one (1) calendar day notice, the Transportation Supervisor shall assign the trip by following the rotation list if possible. This assigned trip shall not cause the driver's name to be skipped when their name comes up on the rotation list sequence. ▇. The Employer agrees to maintain two (2) rotation lists. One list shall be those drivers who desire to take extra runs and the second list shall be the Short Notice or Emergency List. K. The first list (Extra trip list) is a list of interested drivers who desire to take extra trips. If no full-time driver expresses interest in an extra trip, the employer can exhaust other options in filling the need for the extra trip. If a need still exists, a drafting process of full- time drivers will take place as follows: begin with the full-time driver with the least seniority and moving through all drivers by seniority starting from least to most. If a drafting process is used, it will be done on a rotation basis. L. The second list (Short Notice and Emergency List) shall be those drivers who desire to take trips that are rejected by the originally designated driver less than twenty-four (24) hours before the trip, or for trips where there is less than twenty-four (24) hours’ notice. If no driver on this list takes the trip, then the Transportation Supervisor may assign the trip to any driver. M. However, in an emergency situation, where the Transportation Supervisor does not have time to follow the list or where all drivers on the list have refused then he can assign the trip to any driver.

Extra Bus Trips. A. All drivers A bus driver rotation list shall be paid maintained by the Administration for all hours spent on extra trips each of the two (2) service areas. One service area will consist of River Valley High School and River Valley Middle School, Addaville Elementary School, and Vinton Elementary School. A second service area will consist of South Gallia High School, South Gallia Middle School, and ▇▇▇▇▇▇ Trace Elementary School. Southwestern Elementary school will be assigned to either list at the rate option of $17.00 the driver at the beginning of the school year. These lists will be updated in 2022-23; $17.50 in 2023-24; August, November and $18.00 in 2024-25March during the school year. If someone new is hired during the school year, the new driver will be notified of the existence of the list and may request to be added to the list per this section. The minimum compensation for any extra trip list will be updated within ten (10) days of the new hire’s start date. Drivers must indicate their desire to be on the rotation lists. All regular drivers' names shall be $60.00listed in order of seniority as determined by the last date of hire in this district and this list shall be furnished to all regular drivers upon request.
B. For All extra trips lasting more than five (5) hours in duration, the driver will be provided a $12.00 meal allowance provided the driver is not given a free meal by the restaurant.
C. In the assignment of extra trips, a seniority rotation list policy shall be followed. The next Extra Trip will be given to the next senior driver on a rotation basis.
D. Whenever possible, extra bus trips shall be assigned five (5) days on a rotational basis using the list described in advance and Section A of this Article. Drivers shall be awarded on a rotated basis from the polled in descending order of classification seniority rotation list.
E. A regular driver shall as determined by Article 18, Section B. Drivers who have the option of either taking his/her regularly assigned route or previously had an extra trip in the event of a conflict.
F. When possible, no substitutes on that rotation shall be used on extra trips until the rotation has been exhausted.
G. There shall be two (2) sign-up periods for the rotation list, the first week of school in the fall, and the first week of school polled only after the Christmas break.
H. If those who have not previously had a driver does not desire extra trips, he shall have the option of withdrawing his/her name from the rotation list. However, if the driver remains trip on the list, there shall same rotation. All drivers on each list will be no trading of positions on the list.
I. A trip rejected (called off) after being assigned shall be cause for the polled before a substitute driver who was first assigned the trip to be skipped until his/her name comes up on the next rotation list sequenceis called. If a driver rejects (calls off) is ineligible for an awarded extra trip for a second time (or more) in a semesterbecause it interferes with his/her regular bus route, he/she shall be skipped remain eligible for other trips on that rotation. Once the full rotation list has been polled and no regular driver has accepted the trip, regular drivers remain eligible for trip and the driver may request the trip. This will not change the rotation list order for the next time histrip.
C. If no regular or substitute driver is obtained through the polling process, the supervisor shall assign the trip on a mandatory rotation basis to the least senior driver who has not previously had such a trip. In such cases where there is a difference between a driver's regular route pay and the extra bus trip pay the Board agrees to pay whichever is greater of the two. All drivers will be polled on both lists before a substitute driver is called.
D. No later than forty-eight (48) hours after a trip has been approved, the supervisor/her name comes up on designee shall begin polling drivers in an attempt to secure a driver for the rotation listapproved trip. Polling for extra trips shall begin as many days in advance as is possible. The supervisor/designee shall make two (2) phone calls or bus radio calls to the driver in a thirty (30) minute span of time. If this trip is rejected with less than the driver has not responded to the call, they have waived their right to the extra trip. The supervisor will not designate a substitute employee to poll the trip. Predetermined athletic trips will be posted three (3) times per year at the High School for a one (1) calendar day noticeweek period, after which the Transportation Supervisor shall assign posting period will be closed for assignment. Predetermined athletic trips occurring between September 1st and October 31st will be first posted at the trip by following August in-service and will be open and posted for one (1) week at the rotation list if possibleadministrative offices. This assigned trip shall not cause Predetermined athletic trips occurring between November 1st and February 28th will be posted at the driver's name to be skipped when their name comes up on the rotation list sequence.
▇. The Employer agrees to maintain administrative offices two (2) rotation listsweeks prior to November 1st. One list Predetermined athletic trips occurring between March 1st and May 31st will be first posted at the February in-service and will be open and posted for one (1) week at the administrative offices. Predetermined athletic trips occurring between June 1st and August 31st will be assigned pursuant to the polling process. Assignments will be made upon the close of the lists on the basis of classification seniority per Article 18, Section B. If a driver accepts a trip and then cannot take the trip, it shall be those drivers that driver’s responsibility to secure a driver for their trip. The driver must notify the supervisor that has the responsibility for the trip that they will not be driving and they must then tell who desire has assumed the trip. Trips that are rescheduled from the original departure date and/or time will not be reassigned to take extra runs and another driver. If the second list shall originally scheduled driver is unable to drive the trip on the rescheduled date and/or time the trip will be the Short Notice or Emergency Listreassigned according to Section A of this Article.

F. When possible, no substitutes shall be used on extra preceding school year for all trips until the rotation has been exhausted.
G. There shall be over two (2) sign-hours. (See Appendix A.)
9.02 When a driver shows up periods for a scheduled trip to find that it has been cancelled and the rotation listdriver was not notified, the first week driver shall be compensated for one (1) hour of school in the fall, and the first week of school after the Christmas breakservice.
H. If a 9.03 No driver does not desire extra trips, he shall have the option lose any portion of withdrawing his/her name from the rotation list. However, regular pay if the driver remains on the list, there shall be no trading of positions on the list.
I. A trip rejected (called off) after being assigned shall be cause for the driver who was first assigned the trip he/she is unable to be skipped until make his/her name comes up regular bus run because of an extra bus trip.
9.04 The Board or Designee shall assign all extra bus trips, subject to and consistent with the following provisions. Extra trips are those requiring a trip slip, for transportation of pupil groups such as athletic teams, band, choir, and class field trips.
A. List #1: To be used when drivers sit down with Supervisor/Administrator to pick trips for the month.
1. All trip slips for the next month should be in by the 3rd Monday of the current month.
2. The meeting will be held on the next rotation list sequenceThursday after the 3rd Monday of each month to pick trips. During months when a holiday or school break occurs, the meeting will be held the last day prior to the holiday or break. The meeting shall consist of picking trips only and is considered as part of the additional thirty (30) minutes of time added to the bus driver day.
3. If a driver rejects is on a trip the day of the meeting, the driver may preselect trips in priority order and provide those selections to the Supervisor before the meeting and those selections will be made during the rotation.
4. The senior driver will have first choice at the beginning of each month (calls off) an awarded no continual rotation).
B. List #2 (Hot List): To be used for any trip that comes in after trips on List #1 have been assigned.
1. The most senior driver has the first choice at the beginning of the school year. If more than one trip comes in at a time, the person next on the rotation has the first choice.
2. Trips that come in should be assigned as soon as they come in.
3. The midday route will be filled from the Hot List. Each day of consecutive multiple days will count as separate days allowing multiple drivers to benefit from extra hours.
4. If a substitute is scheduled for a second time (or more) in trip that is cancelled then rescheduled, the trip will first be offered to regular drivers using the Hot List.
5. If a semester, he/she shall be skipped the next time his/her driver’s name comes up on the rotation listand said driver already has a trip scheduled, and the trip does not conflict with the original trip, the driver may take the second trip, as well. If this the trip is rejected a conflict, the driver will be skipped but a note will be put next to the driver’s name regarding the original trip.
6. The Hot List needs to show if a driver has been asked to take a trip. A “no” needs to be posted until a “yes” is received.
7. The Hot List needs to be kept updated and visible at all times.
C. If a trip from List #1 is cancelled and not rescheduled, the assigned driver can take a trip already assigned to a substitute.
D. If a trip is forfeited voluntarily, the driver is out of the trip, just as if it were cancelled.
E. In the case of multiple drivers going to the same event, i.e. Cedar Point, busses will be loaded in the order of the driver’s seniority.
F. Trip rescheduled: Drivers holding trip tickets to the same original event, i.e. football, will automatically take the rescheduled trip. If fewer drivers are needed, the senior driver will be assigned the rescheduled trip.
G. All extra-curricular or co-curricular field trips, sports trips, or other special trips involving students of the Wellington Exempted Village School District shall be offered to the School District Transportation Services if the trip is within a one hundred twenty-five (125) mile radius of ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Middle School.
H. All extra-curricular or co-curricular field trips, sports trips, or other special trips involving students of the Wellington Exempted Village School District that exceed one hundred twenty-five (125) miles may request service from the Transportation Department or may use commercial transportation unless Section K applies. The decision to use school or commercial transportation shall be made according to Board Policy.
I. In the event that the Transportation Service is unable to provide service for a trip that falls within the one hundred twenty-five (125) mile radius, the sponsor is to be notified in a timely manner. The trip sponsor may seek alternative means of transportation, including the use of commercial transportation unless Section K applies.
J. The district is permitted to work out cooperative arrangements with less than other districts for Vo-Ag trips and special trips which have a common purpose/destination. The number of trips shall be seven (7) each year. Our bus drivers would be placed in a rotation for sharing the trips.
K. Should the Board of Education purchase school vans, such vans shall be driven by bus or van certified drivers for regular trips (AM, Noon, PM, Special Trips). Coaches and/or Advisors who have appropriate credentials may drive up to eight (8) students in a van.
9.05 The JVS Shuttle Route driver will be compensated an additional one (1) calendar day notice, the Transportation Supervisor shall assign the trip by following the rotation list if possible. This assigned trip shall not cause the driver's name to be skipped when their name comes up on the rotation list sequencehour of regular pay per day.
▇. The Employer agrees to maintain two (2) rotation lists. One list 9.06 All midday and JVS routes shall be those drivers who desire bid annually. These trips are not subject to take extra runs and the second list shall be the Short Notice or Emergency List9.04.
