Bus Drivers Clause Samples
The 'Bus Drivers' clause defines the requirements and responsibilities related to individuals who operate buses under the agreement. Bus Drivers. A. The Board agrees to pay bus drivers their regular rate per hour for driving in excess of four (4) hours per day on their regular route. The Board agrees to pay bus drivers their regular rate while transporting students on another regular route during an emergency situation.
B. The Board agrees to pay bus drivers $15.00 per hour for field trips. Field trips will be paid from the point where students are picked up to the point students are returned or the point when the driver returns to the pick-up location.
C. The terms "field trips," "special trips," and "extra trips" shall henceforth be known as field trips. All non-walking field trips which are sponsored by the District, have been approved by the Superintendent, and are accompanied by an advisor/teacher shall be offered to regular drivers before they are offered to substitutes. Dropped trips or trips that arise within twenty-four (24) hours of the scheduled departure time can be filled with the first available driver.
D. Each bus driver shall be paid for all time that is spent on their bus including deadhead, breakdown, maintenance time, layover time, and random drug and alcohol testing.
E. All drivers may take their regularly assigned bus on short trips, however, longer trips shall be assigned at the discretion of the Transportation Department.
F. The Board agrees to pay the cost up to thirty-five dollars ($35.00) for costs incurred to any bus driver for physical, eye tests, or abstracts.
G. At the beginning of each new school year, field trips shall be offered on a rotating basis from a driver rotation list, beginning with the most senior driver on the list. A bus driver who cancels a trip (non-emergency cancellation as determined by the supervisor) with less than forty-eight (48) hours notice shall miss their turn on the next two trip rotations. Drivers may elect to remove themselves from consideration for extra trips. If removed, drivers will remain so for the designated period of time that trips are bid or they may elect to remove themselves for the entire school year.
H. The Board agrees to supply each bus with a broom and window cleaner, for the proper inside and outside cleaning of the bus.
I. Mid-day preschool routes shall be offered, bid, and paid as part of drivers’ regular routes.
J. All bus routes shall be bid with the most senior driver appointed, providing it is not excessive cost to the Board.
K. If a driver takes a field trip he/she will only be deducted the actual morning or evening...
Bus Drivers. Open bus routes shall be filled by the Director with special consideration for seniority. When seniority is not used, rationale will be provided upon request. Attempt to make all short bus routes a minimum of 4 hours. (Philosophy: An attempt will be made to employ bus drivers for a minimum of 4 hours per day.)
Bus Drivers. PRE-SCHOOL MEETINGS
1. The pre-school bus driver’s meeting will be paid at the rate of a minimum field trip. Those not in attendance must use personal leave or sick leave in order to be paid.
2. Unexcused absences will cost a deduction of the above amount.
Bus Drivers. 1. Bus drivers will work a minimum of four (4) hours per day and a minimum of one hundred eighty (180) days per year. The time will include cleaning time, checking tires and brakes, and fueling his/her vehicle.
Bus Drivers. 11:5.1 Bus drivers will be laid off at the completion of each school year and any reduction in FTE during the school year, whether full or partial reduction in FTE, will be addressed in accordance with Article 20:3.4.
Bus Drivers. 1. There will be only one regular driver assigned to a bus route. Any other driver operating that route will be paid as a substitute. The posting of vacancies as provided in Article V Section B of this Agreement shall carry the route number that is assigned to such vacancy.
2. a. Extra curricular trip drivers shall be called trip drivers. Any regular driver may sign up to be a trip driver through the summer inservice day. New drivers must sign up as trip drivers within five (5) working days of their hire date. Said drivers shall be used in seniority rotation for extra curricular trips as needed.
Bus Drivers. Each bus driver will be assigned the same base hours he/she worked the prior year. Employees shall be guaranteed their base hours each day. If there is a reduction in hours, the least senior driver will have his/her base hours reduced. Base hours shall include total driving minutes plus forty - five (45) minutes for check-out clean- up and fueling. Bus routes will be assigned by the Supervisor of Transportation. Drivers are responsible for keeping routes up to date at all times. No changes in routes may be made without prior approval.
Bus Drivers. The work year shall generally coincide with the student attendance year.
Bus Drivers. In addition to the other applicable provisions of the article the following shall apply for bus drivers:
1. Drivers will receive pay for any layover of thirty (30) minutes or less between scheduled driving assignments or district required assignments for which they are not otherwise compensated. Drivers may be expected to perform services, including for example, bus checking and cleaning during any paid time, including layovers. Drivers will have at least fifteen
Bus Drivers. Attendants: The regular workweek for bus drivers and attendants shall be a minimum of twenty-five (25) hours per week and the work schedule shall be consistent with the appropriate school calendars.
