Driving Assignments. The Transportation Supervisor shall have times and hours (AM, PM, Mid-Day and/or kindergarten and Total) prepared in advance of bidding. Bidding shall be done at least five (5) working days before the opening day of school. All school bus drivers will bid in descending order of seniority for total length of driving times that are available for the school year to acquire the routes which shall be assigned by the Board. The lengths of total driving times shall be posted in order from longest to shortest. If a driver is unable to attend in person to select his/her route, said driver may do so as follows: Submit a written notice prior to the meeting to the administrator responsible for transportation, and he/she will be assigned the highest choice available.
Driving Assignments. Benefit Hours: For all full-time bus drivers scheduled hours for the purposes of benefit eligibility shall include the following routes: Home to School, SHARE, and Special Education routes. Regular Routes: For all full-time bus drivers regularly, scheduled hours shall include the following routes: Stand By and Special Education routes. SHARE and Home to School routes vary in length and are added to open slots based on schedule efficiency, location and overtime minimization, when student data is available. All regular routes, (Special Education), standby positions, and program routes will be posted and awarded by seniority. For the purpose of route picks, seniority as defined in section 7-4 will apply. Full time employees will pick first up to forty (40) hours. Modifications to the sign up and rotation process can be made through the labor management committee. For the purposes of route picks, in the event an employee leaves a classification and returns, the employee shall retain their original seniority date within that classification.

Drivers may select only from those available vehicles that are newer than their currently assigned vehicle.

Only a driver meeting the qualifications required to drive the size and type of vehicle required for a specific route can bid on said route. The Association shall be notified of the change(s) prior to the effective date. 18.13.2 - All bus drivers shall be provided with an average of six (6) hours of work each day (a monthly average) during the regular school year.

Driving Assignments. The assignment of all driving, regular and "extra" runs, shall be consistent with the needs of the District and its pupils. The District administration retains final decision-making authority on this subject, and the right to assign, transfer or reschedule all runs in a manner conducive to the effective and efficient operation of its mission. Once assigned to a regular run, a driver will not be changed during the course of the year except under extenuating circumstances in which case the driver will be consulted before a change takes place. Provided there is no interference with a regular bus driver’s performance of regular bus runs, regular drivers will be given preference over substitute bus drivers in the assignment of special and extra driving runs. All extra runs, with the exception of field trips and sports trips are to be signed up for by June 30 of the school year preceding the runs. When applicable, all field trips and sports runs will be posted on the board the first work day of the week prior to the ran. Regular drivers have 48 hours from the time of posting to sign up for the runs. The extra runs will be rotated based on seniority. If after 48 hours no regular driver signs up, the ran may go to a driver not in the rotation or to a substitute driver. When a regular bus driver is assigned to drive a special or extra bus ran at a time which conflicts with that driver’s performance of the regular bus run, the time spent away from the driver’s regular bus run is compensated at the driver’s regular rate of pay, but that time is deducted from the compensated pay to which the driver is entitled by reason of the driver’s performance of the special or extra bus ran. Interpretation/Clarification: When a regular driver is assigned to drive a special or extra run at a time which conflicts with that driver’s performance of his/her regular bus ran (half day), the driver will be compensated as follows: The driver will receive their regular run pay for the first two (2) hours of the extra ran and receive the hourly rate for any additional hours of the special or extra ran. Each bus driver shall have the responsibility to clean the inside of the bus assigned to that driver at the conclusion of each day's run. Outside will be cleaned off when necessary and washed weekly.   • Teaching Assignments No employee shall be assigned to teach in a grade level and/or subject area not within the scope of his/her teaching certificate, except where a position within his/her certification is unavailable or when mutually agreed to by the affected employee and principal, or when determined necessary by the principal. Employees assigned to positions outside the scope of their certificates shall be assigned as soon as possible to positions for which they hold certification.

  • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • Work Assignments Section 1. The Company shall determine whether to staff a position or fill a vacancy and the method or combination of methods it shall use for such purposes. In making this determination, the Company shall first give consideration to qualified internal candidates prior to off-street applicants. All vacancies within the Bargaining Unit shall be posted (manually or electronically) in such a fashion as to be accessible by employees. The posting shall include the title, pay range, and sufficient information regarding requirements and duties to adequately describe the vacancy. The vacancy shall remain posted for seven (7) calendar days. Section 2. In connection with Section 1. above, employees who have met a twelve (12) month time-in-title and location requirement shall be afforded the opportunity to submit to the Company a form on which they may identify their interest in being considered for vacancies which occur in the Bargaining Unit. Section 3. When a vacancy is to be filled from within the Bargaining Unit, Management will consider all qualified candidates who have forms on file relating to the vacancy in question. In selecting the employee to fill the position, the Company will first give due consideration to the candidates’ qualifications and past performance and where those factors are relatively equal, in the judgment of the Company, it shall consider seniority. Section 4. The Company agrees to provide the Union, in writing, the names and titles of all candidates selected under this Article, by the fifteenth (15th) calendar day after any such selection is made. Section 5. Nothing in this Agreement shall be applied or interpreted to restrict the Company in the exercise of its right to hire, promote or transfer; and, to the extent the needs of the business require, to have Bargaining Unit work performed by its supervisory personnel, or its right to make sales assignments without limitations.

  • Overtime Assignments 1. In classifications where employees are eligible for overtime pay, overtime work shall be offered to employees within the work location involved from the appropriate work group in continuing rotation on the basis of seniority. Each employee shall be selected in turn according to his/her place on the seniority list by rotation provided, however, the employee whose turn it is to work possesses the qualifications, training and ability to perform the specific work required. 2. An employee requesting to be skipped when it becomes his/her turn to work overtime shall not be rescheduled for overtime work until his/her name is reached again in orderly sequence and an appropriate notation shall be made on the overtime roster. 3. In the event no employee accepts required overtime work, the State shall assign employees within the work location involved from the appropriate work group to perform the overtime work by continuing rotation in inverse order of seniority. Employees who are unavailable, including employees who are on vacation, sick leave or other approved leaves of absence, and employees for whom the requirement of overtime work would cause undue hardship, shall be excused from a required overtime assignment. Employees so excused shall not lose their eligibility for overtime work within the then current rotation. 4. Work in progress, when appropriate, shall be completed by the employee performing the work at the time the determination is made that overtime is required except that an employee for whom the requirement of overtime work would cause undue hardship shall be excused from the overtime assignment.

  • Room Assignments 6.1 Rooms shall be occupied only by the residents(s) assigned to them by University Housing. 6.2 Assignments are non-transferable. Subletting is not permitted. 6.3 Keys will only be issued to the authorized residents of the assigned housing. University Housing staff are not permitted to issue a key to a friend, family member, or designee. Residents are prohibited from giving their keys to anyone who is not an authorized occupant. 6.4 Occupancy is defined as the number of people assigned to a bedroom; residence halls are either single or double occupancy, Wolf Village and Wolf Ridge are all single occupancy bedrooms, ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ Village, Western Manor and Coastal Quarters are single or double bedrooms. 6.5 Students or employees assigned to ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ Village or Western Manor may have a spouse and/or legal dependents assigned to the apartment with prior approval from University Housing. Friends, extended family members or other NC State students are not eligible to be an additional occupant unless the individual is a spouse and/or legal dependent of the primary applicant. The total number of residents, including the primary resident and all additional occupants, in one apartment cannot exceed the occupancy limit for the type of apartment, as outlined on the University Housing website. 6.6 NC State housing assignments are made without regard to age, color, disability, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status. 6.7 Roommate Preferences: While University Housing strives to meet resident’s requests for a preferred roommate, this Agreement does not guarantee such an assignment. Agreements will not be terminated and refunds will not be issued if preferred roommate requests cannot be granted. 6.8 Room/Roommate Changes: Assignment changes must be first approved by University Housing. Residents wishing to change a room assignment or roommate must complete the room change request in MyPack Portal. Submitting a request does not guarantee a change will be granted. Residents changing 6.9 University Housing may move residents for consolidation, disciplinary action, facility failure, or other reasons in response to unforeseen circumstances at its sole discretion. 6.10 Residents moving from one University-owned housing facility to another are bound to the applicable agreement/community standards/costs for the new facility assignment. Residents may also be responsible for any applicable termination charges resulting from the assignment transfer. 6.11 A qualified student with a disability who seeks reasonable accommodation in housing must register with the Disability Resources Office. The student should notify Housing by indicating the requested accommodation on their application or in a written request to the Housing Office by May 17 for the fall semester and November 2 for the spring semester. Applications submitted after these dates will be considered, however, NC State University cannot guarantee that it will be able to meet late applicants’ accommodation needs, including any needs that develop during the semester. Once the information is received, it shall be reviewed with relevant NC State officials, as appropriate (e.g. Disability Resources Office, Campus Health Services, the student’s academic advisor, etc.) and the student shall be informed of the decision in writing. 6.12 NC State Employees assigned to ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ Village or Western Manor and University Housing student staff seeking housing accommodations including Assistance Animal approval must work through the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED) for housing accommodation approval.
