Fares and Travelling Time. When required by the employer, employees will start and/or cease work on the project/work at the usual commencing and finishing times within which hours of work may be worked and will be paid the following allowances: 28.1 Travel in your own time to and/or from the project/work 28.1.1 An employee who is required to provide their own transport and to travel in their own time to or from the project/work site within the defined radius from centre of employment (as defined) will receive an allowance of 60 minutes per day travelling time calculated at Ordinary time rates in addition to the amount of fares as defined for each day on which the employee presents themselves for work on the project/ work site. 28.1.2 Provided however, that where the employer provides or offers to provide transport from an agreed picking-up place to their place of work the said fares component will not be payable. If either party does not agree with the proposed pick-up point the Disputes Resolution Procedure shall be followed. 28.1.3 An employee must take all reasonable steps to ensure that they present themselves to the most current job/project/location at the commencement of their shift. This includes but is not limited to checking electronic devices (i.e. phone, email, text, WorkCentre) 30 minutes prior to the start of their shift, to ensure that there has not been a change in location. 28.2 Commencing/finishing at workshop 28.2.1 In the case of an employee who is normally required to report for and finish work at their employer’s workshop and is transported to and from any job by their employer, the travel allowance only will be paid. 28.3 Employee provided with vehicle 28.3.1 Where an employee is provided with a vehicle for their use as transport to and from their home to the centre as defined to commence and cease work at the usual commencing and finishing times within which hours of work may be worked the employee will receive an allowance of (60 minutes per day travelling time calculated at Ordinary time rates as specified in Appendix A). 28.3.2 Where an employee is provided with a vehicle for their use in travelling to and from their home to the job site within the radii as defined (Company workshop) to commence and finish work at the usual commencing and finishing time within which hours of work may be worked the employee will receive an allowance of 60 minutes per day travelling time calculated at Ordinary time rates (there is no entitlement to the fares component).

28.3.2 Where an employee is provided with a vehicle for their use in travelling to and from their home to the job site within the radii as defined (Company GPO or company workshop) to commence and finish work at the usual commencing and finishing time within which ordinary hours of work may be worked the employee will receive an allowance of 60 (As specified in Appendix A) minutes per day travelling time calculated at Ordinary ordinary time rates (there is no entitlement to the fares component).
