APD shall supervise and manage its field training program to ensure that new officers develop the necessary technical and practical skills required to use force in accordance with APD policy and applicable law. The field training program should reinforce, rather than circumvent, the agency’s values, core principles, and expectations on use of force and engagement with the community. Field Training Officers should demonstrate the highest levels of competence, professionalism, impartiality, and ethics.

FIELD TRAINING OFFICER PROGRAM. The following conditions shall apply in the implementation and operation of the Police Department's Field Training Officer Program. 21.1: Field Training Officers will be provided with forty (40) hours of MLEOTC certified instruction for FTO to prepare the skills necessary to apply practical in-the-field training/coaching techniques and to reliably assess the trainee's performance. 21.2: The FTO will receive one and one-half (1.5) hours of overtime for each eight (8) hour shift worked with the trainee.
FIELD TRAINING OFFICER PROGRAM. The Chief shall continue the may establish a Field Training Officer Program (FTOP) as a section of the Police Academy. The FTOP function will be to reinforce and update training given in the Academy in field operations. The primary purpose of the Program is to complete the education and training of probationary Officers. Additionally, the program may be used to conduct continuing or remedial education or training for other Department personnel. While patrol officers may be used as Field Training Officers (FTO's) to conduct such training and education, they may not be used to supervise, investigate, or perform other duties performed by higher-ranking Officers.

FIELD TRAINING OFFICER PROGRAM. Dependent and contingent upon budget appropriations approved by the City Council, the City will utilize the Field Training Officer Program. It is understood that the program will incorporate these following items affecting the involved employees: The Chief of Police will have the right to select any officer not on probation to serve as a Field Training Officer. An officer so selected will receive additional compensation as noted in this MOU. The Chief of Police will balance the assignments covering every watch of which there are three (3). Seniority will be utilized per the Field Training Officer’s sworn service time with the department for selection of watches and days off. It is understood that the needs of the Department must have priority over days-off and watch assignments in order to accomplish the training needs.

  • Field Training Officer When a Public Safety Officer has been designated as a Field Training Officer for a new employee he/she will receive a five percent (5%) increase for all the hours they provide direct training/instruction.

  • Drug and Alcohol Awareness Training 68.1 The Employer must schedule one-hour long site toolbox per Project to increase drug and alcohol awareness. The toolbox must be scheduled during working hours. 68.2 Employees will be paid their normal rate including all allowances while attending the toolbox provided by this clause. 68.3 The drug and alcohol awareness toolbox must include information about drug and alcohol rehabilitation and treatment services available to Employees. 68.4 The preferred training provider is ADA Australia, however an alternate training provider may be used by the Employer provided that the training provider must have demonstrated experience and expertise in delivering drug and alcohol awareness training.

  • Training Program It is agreed that there shall be an Apprenticeship Training Program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.
