A permanent When a position is open in any classification in the Maintenance Department, except for Supervisor, a notice shall be posted on all department bulletin boards for not less than five (5) days before the position expected is filled, and any employee in the Maintenance Department may make application to last their Supervisor in writing before the notice expires. The position will be filledaccording to established seniority in the classification called for, qualifications considered. Employees trying out in a new position shall have a reasonable period to qualify; this to be determined by the Director of Maintenance and/or his/herdesignees, and the Officers of the Union and/or their designees.

When the hours of a new position posted and bid on are afterwards changed, all positions below the holder of such position shall be reopened for more than bid according to seniority as defined in Paragraph 1. It is further agreed that for the purposes of vacation relief, so the maximum number of vacations possible to grant may be had during the period of school vacations and for seasonal hunting periods, this paragraph shall be inoperative. It is further understood and agreed that in arranging vacation relief, regular assigned days off will be maintained. A new sign-up shall take place at the request of the representative of the Union.
3. Employees filling the position of one receiving a higher rate of pay shall receive the higher rate providing they are capable of performing the work of the higher classification, and the change is made for a period of three (3) months, except a permanent days or more. They shall then receive the higher rate when filling this position in the future. 6. The affected Flight Attendants must be sent written notification from the Company, via a CrewTrac message, of the vacancy award/assignment, at the time of the posting.
7. A Flight Attendantawarded or assigned a permanent position, shall be given no fewer than twenty (20) days unless extenuating circumstances, then it may be reduced to no fewer than fourteen (14) days’ notice in writing from date of the award/assignment to report to the new domicile.
8. Crew Scheduling shall provide a minimum of five (5) of the awardee's days off consecutively within the first thirty (30) day period after written notification of thevacancy award to relocate to his/her new domicile. It is the Flight Attendant's responsibility to be available at his/her new domicile from the first day of his/her report date regardless of whether he/she has actually relocated.
9. Permanent positions shall be filled by Flight Attendants who are active and available or who are anticipated to be active and available at the time of the effective date of the position or within sixty (60) days. The Company may require satisfactory documentation of availability.
B. TEMPORARY POSITIONS (TDY)

9. In the event of operational necessity, the Company may post a TDY vacancy, at a particular domicile(s) in an effort to increase the number of Flight Attendants at a different domicile(s). The vacancies will be awarded in domicile seniority order or involuntarily assigned in reverse domicile seniority order.

Filling of Positions. A. PERMANENT POSITIONS
1a) All new positions and known vacancies exceeding thirty (30) days that are to be filled (except temporary vacancies not exceeding thirty (30) days duration, as covered by Article 7), shall be promptly filled, as described below. A permanent position Extensions beyond the initial thirty (30) days shall be made on a case-by-case basis in concurrence with the TCU/IAM. The Authority will post vacancies of employees on leave of absence as temporary for one hundred eighty (180) days or less. After one hundred eighty (180) days of absence the vacancies will be posted as permanent. When an employee is awarded a position expected pursuant to last this article, his/her former position will be considered vacant and if the Authority determines to fill the vacancy the selection procedure shall commence within five (5) days. An employee awarded a position under the provisions of this article will be required to accept the assignment. The employee who vacated the position will not be considered for more than that vacancy, except in the event there are no other qualified applicants on the seniority roster.
b) Except when changes in rates result from negotiations for adjustments of a general character, the changing of the rate of a position shall require it to be treated as a new position and filled as described below, unless otherwise agreed between the parties signatory to this Agreement.
c) An employee may make a total of three (3) months, except moves during a permanent position shall not be created for pregnancy leave, medical leave, or other approved leavetwelve-month period. A permanent position fourth move will be permitted if it is to a higher rated position.
d) It is understood that an employee may be either full-turn down a specific vacancy, up to and including the time or part-time. When and date the Company determines that there should be a new permanent position or that a vacated permanent position should be filled it will announce such position for bid.
