Flex Dollars. “Flex Dollars” is the other account that makes up the Residence Meal Plan. The dollars in this account are taxable, declining balance, and used for purchases at other UBC-Okanagan (UBCO) Food Services locations, on- and off- campus partners, vending, and print services. Flex Dollars. Flex Dollars allows you to purchase food from any CHARTWELLS operated dining outlet on campus, buy food via our AFTER HOURS residence delivery program, and you can use your Flex Dollars for purchases at most Snack & Beverage vending machines on campus. All purchases are taxable (GST).
Flex Dollars. Any Flex Dollars will cease upon your Separation Date. However, if you sign this Agreement, and comply with all its terms, your Flex Dollars will continue through the period during which you are eligible for the active employee rate and elect continued coverage.

University flex policy states “Unused flex dollars are carried over from fall to spring semester. Unused flex dollars at the close of the spring semester are forfeited.” If you have both Flex Dollars and Mountie Money on your One-Card, Flex Dollars will be used first, then Mountie Money.
Flex Dollars. Each student will receive $87.50 Flex Dollars per month, which can be spent in the other food locations on campus including Rooted (▇▇▇▇▇▇▇), Starbucks (RGK), the Bookstore Café (▇▇▇▇▇▇), and the Leaf (▇▇▇▇▇▇▇). Flex dollars will be disbursed in batches, for example: Students arriving in September will receive $350 to use from September to the end of December, and this will be renewed in January for another four-month period. Should a student leave in the middle of that period, they will be reimbursed only for the monthly allotment for the months they will miss, except in cases where students have spent more than their monthly allotment. In these cases students will receive a refund for the balance of their flex dollars. Flex Dollars can also be traded for the Christmas Break Meal Plan. o Christmas Break Meal Plan: the regular meal plan is not in effect from December 17, 2022, to January 7, 2023. Students in ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Graduate housing must participate in the Christmas Break meal plan, and will have the following options:
1. Trade the Flex Dollars from the regular meal plan for the Christmas Break Block plan of 10 meals per week, for 3 weeks.
2. Purchase a Christmas Break Block plan of 10 meals per week for $350. o There are no cooking facilities in ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Centre, so students may choose to purchase additional block meals and/or flex dollars. o Due to Fire Safety Regulations students are prohibited from using cooking appliances in ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Centre.
Flex Dollars. Flex dining funds included with your meal plan and those subsequently added to your SU ID Card account can only be used for food purchases at one of the on-campus university dining contractor locations. Unused Flex purchased in the fall semester will carry over to the spring semester. Unused Flex at the end of the academic year, or upon withdrawal after the refund period, is non-refundable.
