Common use of Float Nurse Clause in Contracts

Float Nurse. A nurse who is hired into a float position, either full- or part- 3 time, and is regularly scheduled to an assigned unit. The float nurse is the 4 first to float out of the assigned unit or operational unit and will equitably 5 rotate low-census days with floats in other units or operational units. Float 6 nurses must meet competency skills for secondary nurses as set forth in the 7 job description for the unit or operational unit to which the float nurse is 8 floating.
