General clause Sample Clauses
A general clause serves as a broad provision that outlines overarching principles or terms applicable throughout a contract or agreement. It typically sets the stage for the interpretation of the document, clarifies the intent of the parties, or establishes default rules that apply unless specifically overridden by other clauses. For example, a general clause might state that all deadlines are subject to extension by mutual agreement or that the contract is governed by a particular set of laws. Its core practical function is to provide a foundation for the contract, ensuring consistency and addressing issues not specifically covered elsewhere in the agreement.
