Common use of Granting of Tenure Clause in Contracts

Granting of Tenure. 10.2.1 On or before forty (40) school days prior to the expiration of the probationary term of the members of the teaching staff, the Superintendent shall make a written report to the Board of Education recommending for appointment on tenure, from lists and reports furnished by the building principals, those legally certificated teachers who have been found competent, efficient and satisfactory. If found competent, efficient, satisfactory, and legally certificated, the teacher shall be recommended by the Superintendent to the Board of Education for appointment on tenure. 10.2.2 By a majority vote, the Board of Education may then appoint on tenure any or all of the persons recommended by the Superintendent.
