Granting of Time Clause Samples

The Granting of Time clause allows for the extension of deadlines or completion dates under a contract when certain events cause delays beyond a party's control. Typically, this clause outlines the process for requesting additional time, such as providing notice and substantiating the reasons for the delay, and may specify qualifying events like force majeure, changes in scope, or unforeseen site conditions. Its core function is to provide a fair mechanism for adjusting timelines, thereby preventing penalties or breaches due to legitimate delays and ensuring that both parties have clear expectations regarding schedule adjustments.
