Grievant Representing Himself, Grievance Meetings. Witnesses at Hearing. When an employee covered by this Agreement represents himself in a grievance, no settlement shall be in conflict with any provisions of this Agreement. It is understood that bargaining unit employees have the right to present grievances and have them adjusted, without the intervention of the Union, as long as the adjustment is not inconsistent with the terms of this Agreement, and as long as the Union has the opportunity to be present at the adjustment. Otherwise, an employee may choose one (1) employee Union Representative to accompany him in Step 1 and Step 2 of this procedure.
