(a) INSPECTION OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT.—On the instruction of an authorized enforcement offi- cial of a State or of the United States Govern- ment, a commercial motor vehicle is required to pass an inspection of all safety equipment re- quired under part 393 of title 49, Code of Federal Regulations.
