Holdover Overtime Sample Clauses

The Holdover Overtime clause defines how overtime pay is handled when an employee is required to continue working beyond their scheduled shift. Typically, this clause specifies that any additional hours worked immediately after a regular shift, without a significant break, are considered holdover overtime and are compensated at a higher rate, such as time-and-a-half. Its core function is to ensure employees are fairly compensated for unexpected extended work periods, while also providing employers with a clear framework for managing and budgeting overtime costs.
