Home Tutoring. The hourly rate to be paid for home tutoring will be thirty dollars ($30.00) per hour. A. INCREMENTS

Home Tutoring. The Board and Alliance recognize that students absent from school and requiring home tutoring, are entitled to the best professional tutoring which can be arranged. Ideally, the very same teacher of the youngster in class should be the one to tutor. If this cannot be arranged, an effort to secure a member of the staff in the same grade level (elementary) or department (secondary) should be made. The rate of compensation for home tutoring shall be $50.00 per hour in the 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years, inclusive of expense reimbursement. No teacher shall be required to stay in the home with the child unless a parent or guardian is present. Should a parent or guardian not be present when the teacher arrives, the teacher shall leave and be compensated for one hour.
Home Tutoring. Teachers who do home tutoring will be paid at a rate to be set annually by the Superintendent but not less than $40.00 an hour. The selected rate will be emailed to SEA members by September 1st.
Home Tutoring. No later than September 15 of each year, the Superintendent should canvas all bargaining unit members to determine those interested in accepting home tutoring assignments during that school year. For the purpose of home tutoring, the teachers shall be separated into the following categories based upon their present assignment: K through 6; by subject area for those teaching grades 7 through 12. A teacher may have his or her name added to another list in addition to the list covering his or her present assignment, if the Superintendent deems the teacher qualified to tutor in that area. The name of each bargaining unit member indicating desire to accept a home tutoring assignment in their proper area shall be placed in a container. The names shall be drawn from the container one at a time and placed on a list in order of the draw. The Superintendent shall cause to have each list distributed to each affected bargaining unit member no later than September 30th of each year. Home tutoring assignments shall be made from the appropriate list in rotation order. If a bargaining unit member refuses an assignment, his/her name shall be placed at the bottom of the rotation order and the next person on the list shall be offered the assignment. No bargaining unit member may have a second home tutoring assignment until all other bargaining unit members on the list have either had an assignment or refused an assignment.
