Common use of In Lieu of Bumping Clause in Contracts

In Lieu of Bumping. In lieu of exercising bumping rights, a unit member may elect to be laid off or, if eligible, to retire. Bargaining unit members who select voluntary layoff shall be entitled to the same rights and benefits as members who are separated involuntarily under this article. Bargaining unit members who elect to retire shall be entitled to the rights set forth in Section 13.6.
