Common use of In-Service Program Clause in Contracts

In-Service Program. The Hospital agrees to maintain a 11 continuing in-service education program for all nurses covered by 12 this Agreement. At least two (2) weeks' advance notice shall be 13 given for regularly scheduled in-service education programs 14 whenever possible. When reasonably possible, the Hospital shall 15 make in-service education programs available to nurses on all 16 shifts. In the event a nurse is required by the Hospital to attend in- 17 service education functions outside their normal shift, the nurse 18 will be compensated for time spent at such functions at their 19 applicable rate of pay, including applicable differential, and 20 overtime, if appropriate, for hours worked.
