INCENTIVE PAYS. LONGEVITY Longevity pay is in addition to the base hourly pay rate and is not included in the new step plan implemented in this Agreement. Employees will be entitled to longevity pay the first full pay period after the employee completes the requisite continuous years of service. Layoffs or authorized leaves of absence without pay shall not constitute a break in service; however, any time lost in these occurrences shall not be counted as time worked for calculating years of service unless the employee returns to work in their former position within one year of layoff and longevity shall be bridged. The additional longevity pay shall be paid in accordance with the following longevity pay rate table: Completed Years of Service 56 Hour Employee Hourly Rate 40 Hour Employee Hourly Rate 10 years 0.30 (total) 0.42 (total) 15 years 0.60 (total) 0.84 (total) 20 years 0.90 (total) 1.26 (total) 40.05 56-hour and 40-hour employees who are qualified and licensed as paramedics under all State and local requirements including Orange County Fire Rescue requirements shall receive paramedics incentive compensation (as illustrated below) for each hour or portion thereof worked including any hours of paid sick leave, paid vacation, paid military leave, or any paid hours used during any pay period for the term of this contract. Preceptors will be compensated as illustrated by table in section 40.05. To be certified as Preceptor personnel must meet the following requirements:
INCENTIVE PAYS. Any employee in the classification of Deputy Sheriff I, Deputy Sheriff II, or Sergeant shall only be eligible for a maximum of three special assignment pay differentials at any one-time excluding the Bilingual and POST Differentials.
INCENTIVE PAYS. 1.1 Firefighters who have completed their initial probation period and have obtained an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. degree shall receive educational incentive pay. Education pay shall be authorized for successful completion of one of the aforementioned degrees at an accredited college or university. An accredited college or university is an educational institution approved by the Southern Association of Schools or its regional counterparts, or a technical training school or college approved by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools or Colleges of Technology. An eligible fire fighter must comply with the City’s Human Resources’ administrative rules and the Personnel Rules and Regulations regarding the payment of this Education Incentive Pay.
1.2 Educational incentive pay shall be paid monthly, on the first paycheck of every month, according to the following rates:
A. Associates Degree – One percent (1.00%) of Step 11 firefighter monthly pay.
B. Bachelor’s Degree – Two percent (2.00%) of Step 11 firefighter monthly pay.
C. Master’s Degree – Two and one-half percent (2.50%) of Step 11 firefighter monthly pay.

INCENTIVE PAYS. Employee shall be eligible for the following incentive pays:
a. Longevity Pay: Employee shall receive an additional three percent of base salary.
INCENTIVE PAYS. Employee shall be eligible for the following incentive pays:
a. Longevity Pay: Employee shall receive an additional four percent of base salary.
b. Educational Incentive: Master’s Degree - $200 per month
INCENTIVE PAYS. A. Employees who possess the certification for and are assigned to work as Hazardous Materials Specialists shall receive additional compensation of two percent (2%) of base pay effective the first day of the pay period following assignment.
B. Employees who possess a Fire Officer/Company Officer certification shall receive additional compensation of one percent (1%) of base pay effective the first day of the pay period following the date the certificate is issued.
C. Employees assigned to the position of Administrative Captain shall receive additional compensation of five percent (5%) of base pay. Effective December 22, 2024, assigned to the position of Administrative Captain shall receive additional compensation of eight percent (8%) of base pay.
INCENTIVE PAYS. (a) Mechanics in Fleet and at the Coral Oaks Golf Course who hold an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certificate and/or an Equipment and Engine Training Council (EETC) Certificate shall be paid eight dollars ($8.00) bi-weekly for each of the service areas listed on their certificate, up to a maximum of five (5) certificates. Mechanic in Fleet who hold an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master’s Certificate shall receive an additional ten dollars ($10.00) bi-weekly. Additionally, Mechanics in Fleet who hold, and are actively using the certifications, shall be eligible for the following incentives: ⮚ a State of Florida School Bus Safety Inspector certification shall be paid forty dollars ($40) bi-weekly. ⮚ an EVT Certification Commission Fire Apparatus Technician certification shall be paid twenty dollars ($20) bi-weekly. Traffic Technicians, Construction Inspectors, Senior Construction Inspectors, Crew Coordinators and Sign Fabricators who hold a Certificate from the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) shall be paid as follows: ten dollars ($10.00) bi-weekly for a level I; fifteen dollars ($15.00) bi-weekly for a level II; or twenty dollars ($20.00) bi-weekly for a level III. Employees that hold a CPSI (Certified Playground Safety Inspector) certification and are actively utilizing the certification shall be paid twenty dollars ($20) bi-weekly Service Workers I and II who hold a current State of Florida Class CDL shall be paid twenty dollars ($20.00) biweekly for a class B CDL or twenty-five dollars ($25.00) biweekly for a class A CDL.
(b) There are a number of classifications which require licensing and or certifications in excess of the basic requirements of the Job Description as authorized by the Department Director.
(c) The City agrees to pay seventy-five dollars ($75.00) bi-weekly to employees who are chosen by the Department Head or designee to be members of the SCUBA Team, if needed. Team members must meet all department certifications and skills requirements. Team members will also be required to pass annual City proficiency certifications. Members of this team may be responsible for, but not limited to repair, maintenance, and inventory of equipment.
