Interconnection Metering Clause Samples

The Interconnection Metering clause establishes the requirements and procedures for measuring the flow of electricity at the point where two parties' electrical systems connect. Typically, this clause specifies the type, accuracy, and maintenance of metering equipment, as well as responsibilities for installation, calibration, and data sharing. By clearly defining how energy transfers are measured and verified, the clause ensures accurate billing, accountability, and helps prevent disputes over the amount of electricity delivered or received.
Interconnection Metering. Any metering necessitated by the use of the Generating Facility shall be installed at the Interconnection Customer's expense in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements or the Utility's specifications.
Interconnection Metering. Any metering necessitated by the use of the Small Resource shall be installed at the Interconnection Customer’s expense in accordance with State or local regulatory requirements or the Interconnection Provider’s specifications.
Interconnection Metering. Any metering requirements necessitated by the use of the DER shall be installed at the Interconnection Customer’s expense. The Interconnection Customer is responsible for replacement meter costs not covered in the Interconnection Customer’s general customer charge. The Area EPS Operator may charge Interconnection Customers an ongoing metering-related charge for an estimate of ongoing metering- related costs specifically demonstrated and approved in tariff regardless of the choice of meter payment. The Area EPS Operator shall offer the Interconnection Customer the following payment options. 5.4.1 Pay upfront the cost of metering requirements for the DER. Any maintenance or replacement costs may be billed separately to the Interconnection Customer after these costs are incurred. 5.4.2 Pay a tariffed monthly charge for the actual, DER-related meter and metering-related costs. If no tariffed monthly charge is an exact match, then the closest applicable tariffed monthly charge shall apply; unless metering requirements are so different that individual case basis pricing should apply.
Interconnection Metering. Wiring - Customer shall furnish and have installed, if not already in place, the necessary meter socket and wiring in accordance with all applicable safety and electrical standards. Customer shall have installed a second meter socket and necessary wiring between the output of the Facility and Customer’s main electrical service. The meter socket shall be located outside at a location approved by MMED. Customer shall provide and install a safety disconnect switch adjacent to MMED’s metering equipment that is accessible by MMED at all times.
Interconnection Metering. PacifiCorp-owned, metering equipment shall be tested by authorized PacifiCorp personnel. Coordination between the developer and PacifiCorp’s project manager is recommended at least two months before the backfeed date to assure that timelines for project completion are met. The interconnection customer will provide unrestricted access for PacifiCorp’s employees or vendor employees (whichever are utilized) to the equipment to be commissioned.
