Intermediate Certificate Sample Clauses
An Intermediate Certificate clause defines the role and requirements of an intermediate certificate authority (CA) within a digital certificate chain. It typically specifies the conditions under which an intermediate CA may issue certificates, the obligations for maintaining the security of the intermediate certificate, and any limitations on its use. For example, it may require that the intermediate certificate be stored securely and only used to sign end-entity certificates for specific domains or purposes. The core function of this clause is to ensure the integrity and trustworthiness of the certificate hierarchy by clearly delineating the responsibilities and restrictions associated with intermediate certificates.
