Common use of Interviewing Opportunity Clause in Contracts

Interviewing Opportunity. (a) The Employer shall provide the Union local secretary with the names of all new hires within fourteen (14) calendar days of the appointment. (b) A representative of the Union shall be given an opportunity to interview new employees within regular working hours without loss of pay for a maximum of thirty (30) minutes during the first month of employment for the purpose of acquainting new employees with the benefits and responsibilities of Union membership. Such interviewing may take place on a group basis. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or representative will provide the new employee with a copy of the collective agreement.
