Joint Committee on Mutual Recognition. 1. A Joint Committee on Mutual Recognition (referred to in this Chapter as “the Committee”), made up of representatives of both Parties, shall be established on the date of entry into force of this Agreement, as a body responsible for the effective implementation of this Chapter. 2. The Committee shall take decisions and adopt recommendations by consensus. It shall meet at the request of either Party under the co-chairmanship of both Parties. The Committee may establish sub-committees and delegate specific tasks to such sub-committees. It shall adopt its rules of procedure. 3. The Committee may consider any matter related to the operation of this Chapter. In particular, it shall be responsible for and/or decide on: (a) registration of a conformity assessment body, suspension of registration of a conformity assessment body, lifting of suspension of registration of a conformity assessment body, and termination of registration of a conformity assessment body; (b) establishment and, unless otherwise decided, publication on a sector- by- sector basis of lists of the registered conformity assessment bodies; (c) establishment of appropriate modalities of information exchange referred to in this Chapter; and (d) appointment of experts from each Party for the joint verification referred to in paragraph 2 of Article 51 above and sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph 1 of Article 53 below. 4. Without prejudice to Chapter 21, if any problem arises as to the interpretation or application of this Chapter, the Parties shall, first of all, seek an amicable solution through the Committee. 5. The Committee is responsible for co-ordinating and facilitating the negotiation of additional Sectoral Annexes. 6. Any decision made by the Committee will be notified promptly in writing to each Party. 7. The Parties shall, through the Committee: (a) specify and communicate to each other the applicable articles or annexes contained in the laws, regulations and administrative provisions set out in the Sectoral Annexes; (b) exchange information concerning the implementation of the applicable laws, regulations and administrative provisions specified in the Sectoral Annexes; (c) notify each other of any scheduled changes in the laws, regulations and administrative provisions related to this Chapter prior to their entry into force; and (d) notify each other of any scheduled changes concerning their Designating Authorities and the registered conformity assessment bodies.

A Joint Committee on Mutual Recognition ("Mutual Recognition Joint Committee") shall be established as a body responsible for the effective implementation of this Chapter. 2. The Mutual Recognition Joint Committee shall be led by co-chairs from both Parties. It shall comprise an equal number of senior representatives from both Parties with an understanding of this Chapter, its objectives and application and with the relevant expertise. 3. A representative: (a) may be accompanied by advisers at meetings of the Mutual Recognition Joint Committee; and (b) shall not hold a position which may give rise to a conflict of interest. 4. The Mutual Recognition Joint Committee shall: (a) be responsible for administering and facilitating the effective functioning of this Chapter and the Sectoral Annexes including: (b) facilitating the extension of this Chapter, including the addition of new Sectoral Annexes or an increase in the scope of existing Sectoral Annexes; (i) resolving any questions or disputes relating to the application of this Chapter and its Sectoral Annexes;

  • Recognition of Union Stewards and Grievance Committee In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the rights and duties of the Union Stewards.   • APPENDIX B – INDEPENDENT ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSONS Note: The parties agree to meet to discuss the following Independent Assessment Committee Chairpersons. The parties agree to revise and update the list to ensure that an adequate number of Chairpersons are available.   • Joint Committees 1101 Release Time (a) Basic pay or equivalent time off, with a minimum of one (1) hour guaranteed to nurses who are not on duty, will be granted to nurses appointed by the Union to attend meetings of the Union Management Committee and any other Facility joint committee to which the Union is required to appoint representatives. (b) All reasonable efforts will be made to relieve a nurse who is appointed to attend meetings of the Union Management Committee, Nursing Advisory Committee or any other facility joint committee to which the Union is required to appoint representatives, without loss of salary or benefits. This clause is applicable when the meeting(s) occurs during hours the nurse is otherwise scheduled to work. 1102 Union Management Committee The Employer and the Union agree to establish and maintain a Union Management Committee consisting of not less than two (2) persons appointed by each of the parties. Management representatives shall include the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing; Union representatives shall include the President and/or Vice-President of the Local. Appointments shall be made for a term of one (1) year but without limit on the number of consecutive terms a member may serve. The Committee shall meet at the request of either party subject to five (5) days notice being given but not less than bi-monthly unless otherwise mutually agreed. The purpose of the Committee shall be to discuss/study/make recommendations to the Employer and the Union regarding matters of mutual concern. 1103 Nursing Advisory Committee

  • JOINT LABOUR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE A Joint Labour Management Committee shall be established to attend to those matters which are of mutual interest. To ensure its effectiveness the Committee shall be separate and apart from the grievance procedure.

  • Joint Consultative Committee 46.1 The parties recognise the need for effective communication to improve the business/operational performance and working environment in agencies. 46.2 The parties acknowledge that decisions will continue to be made by the employer who is responsible and accountable to Government for the effective and efficient operation of the agency. 46.3 The parties agree that: (a) where the employer proposes to make changes likely to affect existing practices, working conditions or employment prospects of employees, the union and employees affected shall be notified by the employer as early as possible; (b) for the purposes of discussion the employer shall provide to the employees concerned relevant information about the changes, including the effect of the changes on employees, provided the employer shall not be required to disclose any information that is confidential; (c) in the context of discussions the union and employees are able to contribute to the decision making process; and (d) the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) parties are to provide all reasonable and relevant information except confidential commercial, business or personal information, the release of which may seriously harm a party or individual. 46.4 Each agency will have a JCC comprising of the employer or their nominee, employer nominated representatives and union nominated representatives. 46.5 The JCC will convene within 28 days of a written request being received from either party. 46.6 The JCC will determine its own operating procedures. 46.7 JCCs will be a forum for consultation on issues such as: (a) development of workload management tools within the agency; (b) industrial issues; (c) fixed term and casual employment usage; (d) changes to work organisation and/or work practices occurring in the workplace; (e) agency implementation of recommendations from the ‘Functional Review of Government’; and (f) agency implementation of other aspects of this General Agreement. 46.8 Matters not resolved through the JCC can be referred to the provisions of clause 49 - Dispute Settlement Procedure.
