  • Occupational Safety and Health Acts Contractor(s) who perform any work under this contract shall fully comply with the provisions of the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and any amendments thereto and regulations pursuant to the act. Any Contractor who fails to do so may be terminated for cause as set forth below.

  • Labour Laws (a) The Contractor shall obtain all relevant labour registrations and comply with all relevant labour laws applying to its employees, and shall duly pay them and afford to them all their legal rights. (b) The Contractor shall make all deductions of tax at source and all contributions to the Payment of Gratuity, Provident Fund (including Employees’ contribution) and Employees’ State Insurance Scheme as may be required by Applicable Laws and deposit the aforesaid contributed amount with the appropriate authority/(s). (c) The Contractor shall require all personnel engaged in the Works to obey all Applicable Laws and regulations. The Contractor shall permit Authority to witness labour payments for the Contractors direct labour, or the Subcontractors labour. The Contractor shall ensure that all its Subcontractors strictly comply with all labour laws. (d) Documentary evidence confirming compliance with Sub-Clause 12.4, as may be required from time to time, shall be provided to the Employer’s Representative. (e) The Employer shall not be liable for any delay/default of the Contractor in compliance of the labour laws.

  • Safety Act, Sec The employee rights set out above shall be interpreted within the context of the Ontario Human Rights Code. An employee who believes that they have been harassed, contrary to this provision shall be encouraged by both parties to follow the Employer’s policy on harassment and process. Failing resolution, an employee may follow the process set out in the Complaint, Grievance and Arbitration procedure in Article 8 of the Collective Agreement. The employee shall be encouraged by both parties to exhaust these processes prior to filing a complaint with the Ontario Human Rights Commission.

  • Safety Rules 5.01 The safety rules of the State having jurisdiction shall be observed by the parties hereto. It is recognized that the Employer has the exclusive responsibility for providing a safe and healthful workplace. To assist the Employer in maintaining an effective and continuing safety program, a permanent Joint Safety Committee shall be established, consisting of two (2) members from the Union and two (2) members from the Employers, who shall meet at regular times to administer educational instructions, investigate serious accidents, and to draft appropriate safety rules. Such rules as adopted by this committee, shall become a part of this Agreement.
