Ladders. a. Ladders are in good condition with no loose fittings or damaged components b. Portable metal ladders are not used near energized lines or equipment except for specialized work where a non- conductive ladder may be more hazardous c. All ladders are labeled to meet CE specifications d. Ladders to upper landings extend 75 cm above the landing and are tied off or otherwise secured e. The horizontal distance from the base of a ladder to its top support must be approximately ¼ the working length of the ladder f. The top two steps of non-self-supporting ladders and stepladders are not used as steps. Tops of step ladders are not straddled or used as stool g.
