Layoff and Rehiring Procedure. a) Both parties recognize that job security shall increase in proportion to the length of service and ability; therefore, in the event of layoff, the employees shall be laid off in the reverse order of their seniority within the job classification in the department affected. A seasonal employee within a job classification in the department will be laid off first, followed by part-time, regular part-time, or regular full- time employees in that job classification. b) Any regular full-time, regular part-time, or part-time employee laid off may bump a junior employee within the same department, providing the employee exercising the seniority right has the required qualifications and ability to perform the work. (ii) that such employee claiming the job has the required qualifications, skill, and ability to satisfactorily perform the job.
(i) Employees affected by a layoff shall be recalled in the department affected. A seasonal employee within a job classification in order of their seniority, provided that the department will employees to be laid off firstrecalled have the required qualifications, followed by part-timeskill, regular part-time, or regular full- time employees in that job classificationand ability to satisfactorily perform the available work.
b(a) Any regular A full-time, regular part-time, time employee may be recalled to a full or part-time position. If recalled to a part-time position the employee laid off shall retain recall rights to a full-time position not to exceed twelve (12) months recall period.

(d) A regular Acceptance or refusal of casual assignments of work and acceptance or refusal of temporary work with the Employer shall not operate to increase the period of recall or interfere with the recall rights of the employee.
(e) This article only applies to full-time and part-time <26 hours, seasonal, or casual employee canemployees in permanent positions with regular hours of work and does not exercise their right apply to bump into employees who are only scheduled and/or called according to Article 20.03 (b).
(f) It is understood that the employer is not obligated to split a regular full-full- time position. position to accommodate laid off employees.
(d) An employee wishing exercising seniority to exercise their seniority claim another employee's job under this Article shall be provided with a period of up to two (b) and, or (c), must submit their request in writing to their immediate supervisor within five (52) working days of receiving to familiarize and orient himself to the layoff notice. The written request shall include the request to bump and the position(s) to be bumpedjob.
