In the case of all leaves, the employee shall obtain managerial written approval in advance of taking the leave using the appropriate leave claim method provided by the Employer. Requests for absences due to illness/injury or other unforeseen events shall be submitted by the employee as soon as possible. Medical certification for absences of five (5) days or more for absences due to medical reasons is required. Medical certification may also be required when good cause exists to believe the employee is abusing sick leave. Sick leave for less than five (5) days shall be requested through DOTtime or on the payroll timesheet, whichever is applicable.
