Common use of LEAVES WITH OR WITHOUT PAY Clause in Contracts

LEAVES WITH OR WITHOUT PAY. A. Employees may take leaves of absence with or without pay, subject to the prior approval of the Employer. Requests must be submitted in writing to the immediate supervisor within a reasonable time prior to the requested starting date. The request must also state the reason for the leave and the requested duration of the leave. The supervisor shall respond to the employee in writing giving the reasons for denial. With the exception of B. below, all vacation and compensatory time must be exhausted before a leave without pay may be requested.
