Common use of Level Two - Formal Clause in Contracts

Level Two - Formal. 1. If the informal discussion does not resolve the issue, such employee shall have the right to lodge a written grievance with his/her appropriate supervisor/administrator. If the grievance is not lodged within five (5) working days following the discussion at level one, the grievance shall be waived. A copy of the grievance shall be filed with the Superintendent and Association President. 2. The employee shall have the right to request a meeting with the appropriate supervisor/administrator. Such meeting will be conducted within five (5) working days after receipt of such request. The grievant shall be advised in writing of the time, place and date of the meeting at least two (2) working days in advance. The appropriate supervisor/administrator shall take action on the written grievance within five (5) working days of receipt of grievance or if a meeting is requested, within five (5) working days of the conclusion of the meeting. The action taken and the reasons for the action shall be reduced to writing and copies shall be sent to the employee, the Superintendent, the Treasurer of the Board of Education and the President of the Association.
