Common use of Loading on Annual Leave Clause in Contracts

Loading on Annual Leave. During a period of annual leave an employee shall receive a loading of 17 & 1/2 per cent calculated on the applicable rate of wage prescribed herein. Notwithstanding anything elsewhere provided an employee engaged on shift work shall receive either the average shift rates as appropriate according to the respective full roster cycle, preceding going on leave or a loading of 17 & 1/2 per cent, calculated as in the preceding paragraph whichever is the greater. The loading prescribed by this sub clause shall not apply to proportionate leave on termination.
