Common use of Member Contributions While on Leave Clause in Contracts

Member Contributions While on Leave. Members participating in the Authority’s insurance plans and ancillary benefits continue to be responsible for the employee premium (or premium equivalent, if self-funded) contributions required to keep their insurance coverages and ancillary benefits in effect while on a leave. Member contributions must be received no later than the 15th of the month for coverage to continue in effect for the following month. Failure to continue monthly payments will result in the termination of the member’s insurance. If coverage terminates, the member will be offered the option to participate in the Authority’s insurance continuation program (health coverage only), COBRA, at the member’s expense.
