Memorandum of Understanding (MOU Clause Samples
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is a formal agreement between two or more parties that outlines the basic terms and intentions of a proposed relationship or collaboration. Typically, an MOU sets forth the key points of understanding, such as the objectives, roles, and responsibilities of each party, without creating legally binding obligations. For example, organizations may use an MOU to document their intent to work together on a project before negotiating a detailed contract. The core practical function of an MOU is to provide a clear framework for cooperation and mutual expectations, helping to prevent misunderstandings and guide future negotiations.
