Common use of Minimization of Spills Clause in Contracts

Minimization of Spills. Contractor shall use due care to prevent Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, or Compostable Materials, from being spilled or scattered during the collection or transportation process. If any Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, or Compostable Materials, is spilled, Contractor shall promptly notify the City and clean up all spilled materials, whether on private or public property. Each collection vehicle shall carry a broom and shovel at all times for this purpose. Contractor shall not transfer loads from one vehicle to another on any public street or private roadway, unless it is necessary to do so because of mechanical failure or damage to a collection vehicle which renders it inoperable.
