MINIMUM GUARANTEES. 9 REMOTE ASSIST 10 a. The minimum guarantee for a Remote Assist SHALL APPLY to any 11 authorized Remote Assist received within the eight-hour period 12 prior to the start of the normal scheduled work hours regardless of 13 whether or not the employee is scheduled to work the following day 14 and regardless of the duration of the call. 15 b. Whenever an employee is required to work without having had eight 13 (8) consecutive hours off, such hours worked shall be cumulative, 14 and when the total number of hours worked reaches sixteen (16) 15 hours, any additional hours worked shall be compensated at two (2) 16 times the employee’s straight time rate of pay until the employee 17 shall have had eight (8) consecutive hours off.
18 B. Remote Assist work of two (2) instances or less in number and 19 seven (7) minutes or less duration shall not be considered an 20 interruption of consecutive hours off duty.

4 E. Hours compensated at two (2) times the regular straight time rate 5 shall not count as hours worked for the purpose of computing 6 overtime.
7 F. Nothing under this section shall be construed as requiring the City 8 to work an employee at two (2) times his/her straight time rate of 9 pay.
