Common use of Modification of Normal Work Schedule Clause in Contracts

Modification of Normal Work Schedule. The normal work schedule for an employee may be modified, if necessary, upon request by the employee and approval by the City, to attend training courses. If the modification results in the employee working more than 204 hours in the 27 day cycle, the employee will receive overtime compensation for the excess hours. If the modification results in the employee working fewer than 204 hours in the 27 day cycle, the employee will not be eligible for FLSA overtime compensation. An employee will not be paid less than his/her normal monthly salary as a result of a schedule modification made under this section. This section applies to both life safety and fire suppression employees.
