Negotiation Time. Members of the Union's bargaining committee, up to a maximum of five (5) employees, shall be excused from duty and shall suffer no loss of pay for time spent in collective bargaining negotiations with the City. An officer who is otherwise scheduled to report for work during the twenty-four (24) hour period in which a negotiation session is scheduled shall be allowed to attend that session and said negotiation session shall be considered his regular duty day. Members of the Union’s bargaining committee shall be allowed to flex their schedule as a provision for participation in the negotiation sessions for the Collective Bargaining Agreement, so long as it does not create overtime or violate the Department’s “minimum staffing” general order. In the event that such session is less than two (2) hours in duration, the employee will report for assigned shifts for the balance of their regularly scheduled shift.
