New Faculty Orientation Clause Samples
The New Faculty Orientation clause establishes the requirement for newly hired faculty members to participate in an orientation program. Typically, this clause outlines that attendance at orientation sessions is mandatory and may specify the timing, content, or duration of the program, such as covering institutional policies, teaching resources, and campus procedures. Its core practical function is to ensure that new faculty are adequately informed and prepared to fulfill their roles, promoting a smooth transition and consistent understanding of institutional expectations.
New Faculty Orientation. The Faculty Professional Development Committee, directly or through a subcommittee, shall administer funds for and oversee the Faculty Connections program to orient and integrate new faculty into the college.
New Faculty Orientation. The District will provide to the Association at least ten (10) calendar days advanced notice of all new unit member orientation(s), whether this is an orientation for a group of new unit members, or a single new unit member. During these orientations, the District will provide the Association with the opportunity to meet with the unit members without the presence of anyone outside of the bargaining unit for a minimum of 60 minutes. For the purposes of this article, any new unit member intake process will be considered a new unit member orientation.
New Faculty Orientation. During their first complete full-time semester, first- year faculty will be required to participate in an orientation. Teaching faculty and laboratory instructors will receive .5 hour reduction in scheduled office hours per week during the semester of the orientation. Counselors will attend orientation as part of their regular workload.
New Faculty Orientation. AFT-Y has the right to share information about AFT with new full- and part- time faculty during their new faculty orientation process. The District, upon request, will share AFT-Y information digitally or in paper copies, with new faculty.

The Union shall be granted a minimum of twenty (20) minutes to present materials about the Union at these orientation sessions or for online training/orientation, the Union may provide an informational video that shall be included as part of the online orientation.
New Faculty Orientation. 3.1.1.1 New Faculty orientation" refers to the process by which a newly hired unit employee - whether in person, online, or through other means or media - is advised of their employment status, rights, benefits, duties and responsibilities, or any other employment-related matters.
3.1.1.2 The District shall provide the Federation mandatory access to its new Faculty orientations. The Federation shall receive at least ten (10) days’ notice in advance of a new Faculty orientation, except that shorter notice may be provided in a specific instance where there is an urgent need critical to the District’s operations that was not reasonably foreseeable. Orientation sessions may include individual (one-on-one) or group new hire meetings with a Human Resources representative, a site administrator, and/or group orientation sessions.

New Faculty Orientation. The Association shall be allowed to set up an information table during the first day of New Faculty Orientation in the same location and during the same period(s) of time allotted for all other campus services, offices, and organizations (e.g. Parking Services).
New Faculty Orientation. A. Prior to the beginning of the academic year in August, the division of Academic Affairs may sponsor an orientation program for new faculty Members. Attendance at this program is required.
B. New Members shall receive an amount of $750 for their attendance at this program.
