The New Faculty Orientation clause establishes the requirement for newly hired faculty members to participate in an orientation program. Typically, this clause outlines that attendance at orientation sessions is mandatory and may specify the timing, content, or duration of the program, such as covering institutional policies, teaching resources, and campus procedures. Its core practical function is to ensure that new faculty are adequately informed and prepared to fulfill their roles, promoting a smooth transition and consistent understanding of institutional expectations.
New Faculty Orientation. The Faculty Professional Development Committee, directly or through a subcommittee, shall administer funds for and oversee the Faculty Connections program to orient and integrate new faculty into the college.

Orientation sessions may include individual (one-on-one) or group new hire meetings with a Human Resources representative, a site administrator, and/or group orientation sessions. 3.1.1.3 The Union shall be granted a minimum of twenty (20) minutes to present materials about the Union at these orientation sessions or for online training/orientation, the Union may provide an informational video that shall be included as part of the online orientation.
