NO AUTHORITY TO BIND CITY Clause Samples

The "No Authority to Bind City" clause establishes that the contracting party does not have the legal power to commit the city to any obligations or agreements beyond those explicitly stated in the contract. In practice, this means that the contractor or vendor cannot make promises, enter into additional agreements, or otherwise act on behalf of the city unless specifically authorized in writing. This clause is essential for protecting the city from unauthorized commitments and ensuring that only designated officials can make binding decisions, thereby reducing the risk of unintended liabilities.
